From the supplier: The productivity level and unit labor costs in the UK are compared with those of its main competitors including France, Germany, Japan and the US. It has been found that labor productivity in manufacturing has been increasing faster in the UK than in the four other countries. As to absolute level, the UK ranks third with the US at the head of the pack. On the other hand, unit labor costs in manufacturing in the UK have settled at an unimpressive level of 3.3% as compared with those of competitors with the exception of France.
